I am marksman. That is my identifier.
I have been shooting ever since I was little, and received my first .22 semi-automatic rifle when I was eight years old. My dad instructed me in safe-shooting practices and the basics of target shooting. Going to the range was a regular family activity, and I looked forward to our regular visits to the range. When I started school at the University of Utah, I sought a way to keep up with my favorite activity and discovered the Marksmanship Club. The Marksmanship Club, where I was coached by Matt DeLong and Elwood Powell in “Olympic-Style” shooting. It was very different than what I had grown up with, but quickly became a passion.
Currently, I am about to graduate from the University of Utah studying Pre-Law Physics. It is a difficult major, but shooting has helped my focus and drive to pursue whatever I put my mind to. I plan to move to the Olympic Training Center after graduation to continue striving for excellence and that Olympic Podium.
I am an international style pistol marksman. This style of shooting is performed at the Olympics and focuses on many fundamentals of precision shooting. With a few national titles under my belt, I have begun building an international resume. I compete in 25 meter Women’s Sport Pistol and 10 meter Women’s Air Pistol. Training has become part of my daily ritual, whether it be at the range or at home, shooting is always on my mind.
I am originally from Boulder City, Nevada. My hometown is the best. You cannot beat Boulder City’s Independence Day, but I’m probably bias. Fourth of July is my favorite holiday after all. I love glitter, and periwinkle is my favorite color. I always try to have my nails looking nice for competitions (people tend to focus a lot on your hands while you’re shooting). Legally Blonde is my most watched movie of all time (I love you Reese Witherspoon!), and I have a pet ferret. His name is Zeke. I enjoy dancing, singing, playing piano, and doing crafts when I have spare time. I love my Heavenly Father, and know that he is always watching over me.
I can’t say much else other than I am a marksman. That is my identifier.
